Real Time Safety

We interviewed 1000 employees from 20 countries about the obstacles to achieving their company's safety goals.  We got the same answer all over the world: "Stuff happens."  Strangely enough, the "Stuff" on their incident reports wasn't unpredictable events like an asteroid strikes or earthquakes.   It was stuff that they could have prevented if they had planned the job well, worked according to the plan, and managed the emerging risks during the course of their work.  

We believe that "Stuff" shouldn't happen!  Yes, the hazards in our work are a given, but that doesn't mean we need to give in to the hazards.  Teams that practice Real Time Safety are not just safer; they are more productive, more engaged in their work, and they stay with their employers longer.
